Hi there! My name is Bee, and I am a Denver-based artist!

I grew up here in Denver and Aurora, as well as underfoot in my grandmother’s art studio. My grandma, who has been a working artist for over fifty years, taught me to paint and draw and create as soon as I could hold a crayon. Therefore, I grew up surrounded by her paintings of beautiful ladies in flowing dresses dappled with sunlight.

Besides this, my mother taught me how to sew as soon as I could hold a needle, and every craft we were interested in, we figured out how to do together. My stash of arts and crafts supplies is modeled after hers. My mother makes intricate quilts full of light and color and pattern, and I learned all of the above helping her pick out her fabric. She and I still refer to each other as “creative consultants.” She still calls me into her sewing room to pick out fabric for a quilt she’s making, and whenever I can’t make a creative decision, I know she’ll come up with a brilliant idea I hadn’t thought of before.

Therefore, my work is rooted deeply in love. Love taught me how to paint, nurtured my creativity, and has shown me the way back to myself a million times over. Love inspires and transforms and energizes me every single day. My family are huge contributors to this, but so are my community and my friends and my fellow artists, who I learn from and share joy with and treasure every single day.

My “day job” is as a barista, and every single day, I see a new side of humanity and a new font of love. Every hilarious coworker and kind grandma and tiny toddler and enthusiastic dog that I interact with fuel the way I see the world. Everyone I see in my daily life finds a way to influence my work. If you’ve read this far and we know each other, I am so deeply grateful for you and how you have shaped the world and my life.

Thank you SO MUCH for coming and checking out my art.

It’s my purpose, my fuel, and my favorite way to live. Thank you for any sort of support you’ve given.
